Again, when studying the book of Revelation, it's not so much that I'm saying everything in Revelation was fulfilled in the first century, it's actually the book itself which is saying that everything in it was to be fulfilled shortly, quickly, and that the events within were near (Revelation 1:1, 3, 2:17, 25, 3:11, 12:13, 15:15, 22:6,7,10,12,20). On our website we have the audio of Revelation 11@ Revelation and other passages. You may also read "The Days of Vengeance", or "The Parousia" in the right hand column of our website, it's free. They both cover Revelation 11 very well. Remember that Jerusalem was a multinational city, with peoples from every nation under heaven (Acts 2:5, Rev.11:9). We do not want to ADD satellites to this book as today's futurist teachers are doing. This in according with the warnings attached at the end of the book (Revelation 22:18,19)! Also remember that the word of God proceeded like fire from Jeremiah, and the people were as wood (Jer.5:14=Revelation 11:5) And it was the Law and the Prophets (two witnesses), the word of God, which the Apostles were preaching. It was coming forth from the Apostles and Prophets (two witnesses-Rev.18:20), as well as by the average saint and prophet (two witnesses-Rev.18:24). Many of these saints and prophets were in Jerusalem, where two witnesses resided, Peter and James (two witnesses- 1 Peter 5:13). Peter with more of the impulsive prophetic ministry, and James with the detailed teaching ministry of the word. And yes, such an event would go unrecorded in the midst of multiple Roman Civil wars, pestilence, famine, and earthquakes leveling cities through out the empire, all of which Josephus records. In fact, just about all of Jerusalem's inhabitants would be killed in the city's besieging. Take your pick, there were two witnesses in Jerusalem, one way or the other, testifying to the word of God as fire proceeding from their mouth's (Jer.5:14). Witnesses which Jerusalem's inhabitants and visitors would see shortly and quickly, as they did their exploits (Daniel 11:32), exploits that were near and at hand (Gk:Eggys Revelation 1:3, 22:10).
